The Holiday Season goes Green Smoothie!

It’s December and the holiday season is in full swing!

We all know what that means…lots of sparkly lights, gorgeous decorations, beautiful music and holiday parties with lots of food! Uh oh…I like the lights and the decorations, my girl trio, Dangerous Curves is releasing a Christmas CD this year called “Star of Wonder” (totally exciting!)

So I’ve got your Christmas music covered, but what about all those parties with all that calorie laden, sugar filled food?! No worries, friends! Green Smoothies are your ticket to great health!

This morning, I took a class with someone I think of as a rockstar. Her name is Robyn Oppenshaw and she is the Green Smoothie Girl. She gave a lecture this morning at Fresh Mama and shared her personal journey to health with Green Smoothies. Not only is she absolutely gorgeous, she is lovely and engaging and after her talk and demonstration, she sat down and talked with everyone who wanted to chat with her! I bought her children’s book “The Junk Food Dude” for my Little Man and he has already been looking at the pictures and talking about it. I have dabbled with green smoothies before, and I really liked them! As always, it’s a habit that must be kept up and done correctly. 2013 holds so much promise that I simply must be my best. I’m tired of worrying and fretting about my weight and my looks. As a working Mom, I need all the energy and happy-peppy I can get!

Honestly, one of the most profound things she said was that our health and the health of our families is up to us, Moms. So true! If I make those smoothies, the Big Man and the Little Man will drink them. How hard is it really to drink a quart of green smoothies a day?  It’s not! That’s where you start. Don’t get caught up in being perfect with your eating and diet. Just drink that quart a day. Let me know how you do with it! Here’s my shopping list, I made it in Noteshelf, one of my fave iPad apps:

Benjamin Franklin pointed out that, “The U.S. Constitution doesn’t guarantee happiness, only the pursuit of it. You have to catch up to it yourself.”
