Sledding Season Is Here! {Gorgoza Park Now OPEN}

Hello Snow! We’ve been waiting for you . . .

You might have been counting down the days until you can ski or snowboard, but me and my house? We’ve been counting down the days to sled. We have a long history of sledding greatness in our family {see my husbands high school sledding shenaniganshere . . . yay for the 90’s}.

While we might not be sledding off cliffs anymore, we still enjoy a good ride down the mountain!  {I might enjoy being towed up the mountain just as much}! Gorgoza Park is our favorite spot! When you are taking a big group sledding there are a few other things that make it awesome aside from the rope tow. Bathrooms? Check. Snacks? Check. A warm place to hide out with a crying toddler? Check.

Gorgoza Park Hours

Monday – Friday: 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Saturday – Sunday: 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Gorgoza is typically open on a schedule similar to ski resorts. It is open now (just after Thanksgiving) and stays open through the beginning of April depending on weather.

Gorgoza Park Birthday Parties

I’ve got 3 winter birthdays at my house. There’s always the question of “what to do for winter birthday parties”.  The best answer is to go sledding. You can email Gorgoza to get group rates here: groups@gorgozapark.com.

You basically unleash your flock of children to the sled hill for 2 hours while you sit in the “Warming Yurt” with a cup of cocoa. Or of course, you can hit the sled hill with them. We did this for my daughter’s birthday party last year and it was a breeze.

Sidenote: I was completely impressed by the staff. I lost my youngest on the sled hill for a small period of time. We couldn’t find her ANYWHERE. They radioed each station on the sled hill with her description and located her within minutes.

We had a blast!

See you on the sled hill!
