Located in the beautiful town of Port Jefferson Village, on the trendy and charming East Main Street, Breathe is one of those stores that makes you want to spend an hour browsing and exploring unique items you’d have a hard time finding anywhere else local. It’s an eclectic new age shop with everything from candles to healing stones, jewelry to statues, Buddhas to lip balms and a lot more. At night they offer workshops, reiki circles and meditation. Recently I got to chat with Jena, the friendly owner.

How long have you been in business?

It will be eight years this August.

What made you choose the name Breathe?

When my dad used to see me stressed, he’d tell me not to sweat the small stuff, breathe really does translate to that.

What are your hours?

Seasonally, they change, Fall & Winter, Monday thru Friday 12-6, Saturday and Sunday, 10-6pm. Spring and Summer, 10-7 seven days per week.

What type of  items do you carry?

Religious, spiritual and metaphysical items, angels, garden, home accents, crystals, books, angel cards, sage, yoga gear, jewelry, candles, and perfume. There’s always something new at Breathe and we have seasonal items too.

What’s new at Breathe?

We have added meditation and workshops to the class list.

What makes Breathe worth the trip?

The energy in the place is amazing and so are our customers and staff.

What are your best selling items?

Healing crystals, “The Naked Bee” organic lotions and our great variety of signs- we have more than any shop around.

Sharing The Spotlight

My baby boy is due in a month. Of course, I’m worrying about the little guy’s health, labor and delivery, and how I’m going to lose my baby weight. But I also can’t stop wondering how my daughter is going to adjust to sharing the spotlight.
