Rock of Ages Show ~ Las Vegas
On our girl trip, we also went to see the musical Rock of Ages – Las Vegas at the Venetian. Now I am not usually a musical fan, but with mullets and hair bands involved, what’s not to love? Rock of Ages is a long running broadway musical directed by Murrieta’s Kristin Hanggi. Last year a Warner Bros movie version came out that featured Tom Cruise. This Las Vegas musical version, which opened last December, is similar, but the story line has some twists and turns not included in the big screen version.
So put on those mini skirts, get out the big hair spray and get ready to rock! ROCK OF AGES, features 28 classic rock anthems including “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “We Built This City,” “The Final Countdown,” “Wanted Dead Or Alive,” “Here I Go Again,” “Can’t Fight This Feeling,” and “I Want To Know What Love Is,”. Set in L.A.’s infamous Sunset Strip in 1987, ROCK OF AGES tells the story of Drew, a boy from South Detroit and Sherrie, a small-town girl, both in L.A. (there is a Bon Jovi song in there somewhere) to chase their dreams of making it big and falling in love. ROCK OF AGES takes you back to the times of big bands, big hair, big guitar solos and musicians that could actually sing. This feel-good love story is hilarious and celebrates the great rock songs of the ‘80s.
The character of Stacee Jaxx – played by Kyle Lowder (he used to be on Days of Our Lives) had one of the most ripped bodies I have seen in a very long time. If you see the show, you will understand why I had to mention this. You gotta give credit where credit is due ~

Tickets ranged from $50 – $150, and I have to tell you I would go again in a heart beat. Some of the dancing, costumes and language may not be appropriate for children under the age of 14 (and children under age 5 are not admitted to the show).
