Get ready Modern Family lovers, because big things are about to happen, and I for one am not ready.
Modern Family co-creator, Christopher Lloyd, recently told Entertainment Weekly that the upcoming season of the show is going to “deal with a death, which is certainly a topic that families have to deal with, and on television, it's not easy to do because that's a heavy subject. But at the same time, it would seem unusual for a family not to go through it."
True that, and the show has long been dealing with sensitive-for-some subjects, but nothing they haven’t found a hilarious way to get us through together. But this? This is major, and I’m super curious to see if they help us laugh our way out of this one, too.
As for who is going to be leaving the Family this season, Lloyd promised it would be a “significant character on the series.” Be still my heart!
He also said that it won’t just be a one-off episode, that the death “will be a moving event—and an event that has repercussions across several episodes.”
Well, Modern Family, we’re here, we’ll try and be ready, and please pleasetake it easy on our Pritchett/Dunphy/Tucker/Delgado-loving hearts.
Get ready for the Season 10 premiere September 26 on ABC!
