Summer Reading Bucket List
Do you have a summer reading bucket list? We decided to try to read every book on the Caldecott Medal book list. I started out thinking we'd try tackling the Newbury list, but those are all much longer than I remembered for my little people to tackle in a summer.
The Randolph Caldecott Medal annually recognizes the preceding year's "most distinguished American picture book for children", beginning with 1937 publications. You can find a complete list here.
Each night before bed, we curl up and tackle 1 or 2 or these beautiful books.
Here are a few of our favorites from this summer's reading:
- A Sick Day for Amos McGee
- Flotsam
- The Glorious Flight: Across the Channel with Louis Bleriot
- Cinderella, or The Little Glass Slipper
- Officer Buckle and Gloria
