Summer Can't Be Over!

Unlike most parents, I’m not ready for our eight year old to start school.

Among all the celebrations, shopping, and sighs of relief, plenty of moms aren't ready to wave goodbye to the lazy, hazy days.

End of Summer Guilt

Leading up to the start of school starts and I've been wracked with guilt and a little bit of sadness. As are apparently half of the other moms in my neighborhood.


Being Present

As human beings, we get spread out everyday, we spread our attention at work, we worry about paying bills, what's for dinner, what's going on politically, there is so much stimulation everyday in our lives that we literally have to spread ourselves between tomorrow, yesterday, endless to do lists.

Summer is almost over. In the libraries we are girding our loins for the start of the school year. No more happy families picking up audiobooks for road trips; it's time for the after-school junior high crowds (heaven help me) and . . . dun dun dunnnn . . . school assignments.
