Nut Crusted Baked French Toast with Vanilla Maple Syrup

I found this little baked french toast recipe in “O” Magazine about 8 years ago(ish). I’ve had it in my recipe folder ever since. I was looking for something to wow my in-laws with after our annual Christmas tree hunting trip (which usually results in a near death experience in the middle of the mountains in the winter). I busted out this gourmet baked french toast like an Iron Chef! (It is RIDICULOUSLY delicious!)
