A few years ago I decided to redo our front yard. It was mostly grass, a few sad shrubs, old day lilies, and a beautiful birch tree that was way too close to our foundation. I've never taken on a home landscaping project before, so I started with talking with a friend who is a landscape designer. She asked me what I had in mind and had me send her some pictures of gardens that I liked. We had to clear everything out last year, and save our pennies, but this is the summer we're putting in our new front yard!
