That’s not all Schnepf Farms is celebrating; they’re also celebrating 70 years of “farming and fun”.  In case you’re wondering, they throw a good, family friendly party.

It’s a good thing they are open from 10 am until 9 or 10 pm because there is a lot to do! Almost every hour, you can enjoy riveting pig races. The competition is steep as Brad Pig, Javelina Jolee, and my favorite, Kevin Bacon race around Hillbilly Bob’s track.  If that’s too wild for you, try a hay ride, a train ride or ride the oldest operating carousel in Arizona.  Better yet, do all three.  Try your hand at miniature golf or the pumpkin launch. Ride the giant slide and explore the straw bale maze.  This year’s corn maze is a tribute the founding Schnepfs.

Ride Arizona’s only gravity roller coaster and other rides, including the Honeybee Adventure, Swinging Lady Bugz, and the Flying Farmers.  A word of warning, the Road Rally cars are petal operated – so make sure you power up with a bowl of chili first.  That would be a good time hit the rock climbing wall too!

If you are interested in the more relaxing sites of the farm there’s a petting barn, a kids play yard, a museum, gift shops, a country store and my favorite the sweet shop.  I tried their Carmel Apple Pie and it was amazing!  On Friday and Saturday nights you can enjoy the fireworks display.  There are daily Stuntmasters BMX and Rocket’s K-9 Frisbee Dog Stars shows, and a couple of weekends there are teen dance parties.

Tickets are $15, or you can pick them up ahead of time at Fry’s Food for only $12. Food, pumpkins, crafts, train and pony rides are extra.  Schnepf Farms is a great place to take advantage of the beautiful weather we enjoy this time of the year!
