Well….because I’ve set it to be! This year, instead of setting resolutions for myself, I’ve decided to set goals. I’ve always loved setting New Year’s resolutions, getting a cute new notebook and pen from Target, then writing out my resolutions one by one. I had every intention of fulfilling them, too!
Yet, year after year, December would come and I would realize that I hadn’t really fulfilled my resolutions. A very disappointing way to end the year. Then, this year, I wrote out all the things I wanted to happen. More singing gigs, write more, more students. I wrote about being a better, more patient and smarter Mommy. I wrote about how I could improve as a wife, therefore improving my family’s life. And, I KEPT writing them out.
I re-read a fantastic book I had read several years ago, called “Write It Down, Make It Happen” about writing out your goals. I am reading it again now! It’s a book I HIGHLY recommend. I kept refining them and thinking about these thoughts in as positive way as possible. I joined a group called JAH (you can check it out here) to help me with my plans of making a better life for myself and my family through focus and hard work. Now, was I completely successful with all my goals? No…not yet, anyway! However, I am getting closer and closer to the exact life I want to live and enjoying the ride along the way! The journey should be just as much fun as the destination. After all, that’s what life is all about!
Here are my goals, handwritten in one of my fave iPad 2 apps called Noteshelf! It’s so cute with fun papers, “pens” with many colors to choose from and even emoticons to add flair! Not to mention it fulfills that “buying a new notebook” need and let’s you write it out by hand, in a high tech way! LOL! Love it!
