Some of my very favorite trips have been to our national parks. I was SO PUMPED when my kids were old enough to haul them to my favorite places. Do you know that there are several free entrance days in the national parks each year?
The next free day is right around the corner— on February 20th! Which also happens to be Presidents’ Day, which I’m pretty sure is a day off of school and therefore a long weekend for almost everyone.
Mark your calendar for these free entrance days in the National Parks in 2017:
- February 20: Presidents’ Day
- April 15-16 and 22-23: Weekends of National Park Week
- August 25: National Park Service Birthday
- September 30: National Public Lands Day
- November 11-12: Veterans Day Weekend
This fee-free day is in honor of the National Park Service turning 100 years old. To celebrate, the National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone on the days listed above.
The fee waiver includes entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Other fees such as reservation, camping, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not included unless stated otherwise.
