San Ramon Water Park
We stayed at the Disneyland Resort this past May, which has an amazing pool and slide, and he has been smitten ever since. My nephew also had his 1st birthday party at a pool with a slide and my son’s love for the water slide was confirmed once again. I think he is a little young to pay the $30 per person to go to WaterWorld nearby in Concord – but I needed to take him somewhere as he asks me every week, “water slide Mom?”
I found the perfect solution. San Ramon Olympic Park & Aquatic Center is a water wonderland for all ages. We took my son and our 10 month old daughter and had a blast. We did go on Labor Day, and it was super packed, but all around fun had by all. It does pay to get there a little early so you can claim a shady spot, but you cannot beat the $4 admission price. Children 1 and under are free. There is a large slide for older kids and a smaller slide among the play area for younger children. There are diving boards, waterfalls, open swim lanes, and best of all, you can bring in your own food and drink. It makes for a cost effective afternoon. They are currently only open on weekends through the end of September. Click here for directions and more info. Pack up the swim diapers and head down to San Ramon!
