Upon our arrival, the vibrant colors and lush landscapes of Isla Mujeres greeted us warmly. We checked into our cozy accommodation, which offered breathtaking views of the beach. Isla Mujeres is home to one of the best beaches in the world, so experiencing this was incredible.

One of our favorite beaches featured a rocky shoreline that added a touch of rugged beauty to our seaside adventures. The kids enjoyed exploring the area and searching for tiny sea creatures. If you are lucky enough, you can sometimes spot turtles swimming in the ocean off of Punta Sur.

Island Adventures
Renting a golf cart was the best way to explore Isla Mujeres. We zoomed around the island, stopping at local markets, visiting scenic viewpoints, and discovering hidden gems. The freedom of having our own transport made the trip even more enjoyable. Would highly recommend renting a golf cart at least once. Don’t worry, the island is small enough that you won’t get lost. Plus, we had great cellular reception, so Google Maps kept us informed on where we needed to go.
We found several family-friendly spots that were perfect for a day of fun and learning. The local culture and warm hospitality of the islanders definitely added to our positive experience. One of the highlights was a boat trip where we enjoyed the serene beauty of the surrounding waters.
Snorkeling and Marine Life
Isla Mujeres is renowned for its rich marine life and excellent snorkeling spots. We donned our gear and plunged into the underwater world, where vibrant coral reefs and schools of colorful fish awaited us. The clear waters made it easy to see the stunning array of marine life, and the kids were thrilled by the experience. A little sunscreen tip. We had to purchase our sunscreen from our snorkeling provider. Even the stuff we bought that was supposedly “marine life friendly” couldn’t cut it.
Sunset Sail
A sunset sail is a must-do activity on Isla Mujeres. We boarded a sailboat in the late afternoon, eager to witness the sun setting over the horizon. As the boat glided over the calm waters, we relaxed and took in the breathtaking views. The sky transformed into a canvas of oranges, pinks, and purples, making for a perfect ending to our day. Sailing was one of the highlights of this spot.
