The best free ticket in town is just a click away – starting today, museum-goers can head to smithsonian.com/museumdaylive to download tickets for Smithsonian magazine’s Museum Day Live! Tickets grant free admission for two people per household to participating museums on Saturday, September 29, 2012.
Museum Day Live! will be the eighth annual event celebrating education through the nation’s wide array of museums and cultural institutions. For one day only, participating locations across the country will emulate the free admission policy of the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington, D.C.-based facilities. The program encourages learning and the dissemination of knowledge nationwide. Last year’s event drew over 350,000 museum-goers to over 1,400 museums.

This is a great way to experience and expose your kids to cultural and historical arts. Or it also can be a cheap date for mom and dad! One of my most moving experiences was at the Holocaust Museum in Dallas, but I’m considering using our free pass for either the Texas Civil War Museum or the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth.
