Chihuly at the Dallas Arboretum

One word: Chihuly!

If there’s ever been a reason to stop and smell the roses, go to the Dallas Arboretum to see the current and colorful Chihuly exhibit. It’s extraordinary, especially since it’s surrounded by the beautiful plants and roses.

Remarkably, the exhibit is comprised of hand blown glass ornaments. They’re colorful and simply breathtaking.

On the Dallas Arboretum website, the garden illuminates featured sculptures. One can actually enjoy the exhibit “in the evening flow of moonlight and tree lights”. How romantic!

I enjoyed a semi-private tour so much that I came back with my family this past weekend. This exhibit runs until November, so you’ll have plenty of time.

Unknown to me, I learned that the Arboretum has a weekly nighttime concert series. One of my favorite bands, the Molly Ringwalds, will make a special appearance. If you grew up in the 80’s and loved the music of that era, you’ll love listening to this band play.

Living in Texas for 14 years, I worried the exhibit may not withstand the stormy season, but representatives said the artwork has encountered “everything from heavy rains to wind, hail, snow and even a hurricane.”  The pieces are well secured.
