Arizona Things to Do July 2013

July is a tough month in Arizona with high temps and miserable kids stuck inside all day.

Here are some fun things to do during this month to keep your kiddos busy and entertained.  Enjoy!

Prowl and Play at the Phoenix Zoo -July 13 and August 10.  There are splash pads, music with Radio Disney, close up with smaller animals, sidewalk art, magician, face painting, giraffe encounter, safari train, and more.

Children’s Museum of Phoenix Play & Learn Saturdays– July 13.  1-4 pm.  The Shops at NorTerra-Happy Valley Rd.  This is a great event to bring kids to for a short time.  It’s free and they can just hang out and enjoy the air conditioning.

Radio Disney R.E.A.D.S Program -July 16. 6-7 pm.  The Shops at NorTerra. Free.  Games, prizes, music, dancing, crafts, and more.

National Cow Appreciation Day -July 12th.  All day.  Free!  Earn free food by dressing up as a cow and visiting your nearest Chick-Fil-A.  It’s a great event for families to get their meals free and have a fun family meal!

Bank of America Museums on Us -July 6th and 7th.  Just show your photo ID and card for free admission to specific museums on the site.

Lego Kidsfest -July 12-14th.  Tickets go quickly and they often sell out before the day of the event.  There will be Lego master builder sessions, Lego Museum, store, activity area, challenge zone, big brick pile, race ramps, games, Lego Star Wars, Lego Technic, and much more!  A little pricey, but worth it as there is so many activities and fun things to see and do.

Back to School Kids’ Fair -July 13th Fiesta Mall and July 20th Desert Sky Mall.  Vendors, schools and other kid related items will be available.

Lowe’s Build and Grow Events -July 13-14 and July 27-28.  This month is Toy Story month with several items that your kids will love.  Free!

AZ Foothills Dog Days of Summer 2013 Casting Call -July 20th.  Desert Ridge Marketplace.   Bring your dog, have a picture taken and enter into the dog picture contest.

Winter in July at the Phoenix Zoo -July 20.  Phoenix Zoo.  20 tons of snow with separate areas for younger and older children.  Animals will get in on the cold action with special treats and events planned.

Christmas in July -July 20.  Historic Downtown Glendale.  Santa will be visiting along with crafts, treats, and special deals.

McDonald’s Backpack Giveaway, Health and Safety Fair -McDonald’s has partnered with local businesses to proved backpacks to the local children.

Peach Mania Festival -July 13-14, 20-21, 27-28.  Apple Annie’s Orchard.  Peach picking, peach breakfast, pie, ice cream, and much more!

These events are only some of the cool things going on this month, but space is always an issue.  Hopefully this are helpful and will give you ideas to keep your kids entertained.
