I’ve made 3 big moves in my life, and all 3 have been across the country, thousands of miles from the place before.

I’ll never forget the days we moved into each town–feeling nervous, excited, and overwhelmed at the prospect of trying to figure everything out, from stores and parks to libraries, dentists, doctors and more. Starting from scratch is hard, no matter why or where you’re moving! In response to how I felt when I moved, I created this {Welcome To Town} printable to help others in the same situation.

I created this fun and easy “welcome to town” survival guide that’s perfect to give to a new friend or neighbor that’s just moved to town. It’s small and compact, and can easily tuck into a purse or diaper bag for easy reference. You can fill them in on all your favorite places in town…groceries, restaurants, libraries, parks, farmers markets, outdoor activities, hair salons, and all the other tidbits that would be so helpful right from the start. Tie this book onto a bag of treats with a ribbon, and you’ve got a wonderful gift that anyone would appreciate.

I included a cover page and 5 information cards: food, services, shopping, things to do, and a blank one for favorites. Favorites in the town I moved from recently would include blueberry patches, baseball games, cider mills, the farmer’s market, and city forest. Now I would add Houston Zoo, Spring Creek Nature Center, Fountains at Waterway Square, P-6 Farms (picking blackberries is a family favorite!), Brazos Bend State Park–you can add anything you love about where you live and want to share with them.

Welcome to Motherhood Britney Spears

The last time I flipped through a People magazine in the checkout aisle at the grocery store I saw they had a flattering portrayal of the about-to-give-birth Britney Spears (will someone please, please tell me the Britney pregnancy photos are seriously digitally enhanced), including some pictures of her with her one-year old, Sean Preston.
