Chinook Book: Ideas For Late Summer Fun

So when’s the last time you looked at your Chinook Book? A couple of months ago? Perhaps last fall?

I think a lot of us buy the coupon app or book for fall school fundraisers, get our money’s worth, and then sort of forget what’s in there. There’s still more than two months left to use those coupons though, so why not take advantage of what’s left for late summer activities?

Now that the sun is finally out, and school is just around the corner, I’ve been browsing my Chinook book to get ideas for fun, inexpensive activities. Here are some that stood out:

Now is the perfect time to use the 50% off a single scoop coupon from Full Tilt Ice Cream.

Peaks Frozen Custard Café offers one item free with you buy a second item of equal or greater value.

You can also get one ice cream cone free when you purchase a second of equal or greater value at Bluebird Microcreamery, Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream, Fainting Goat Gelato and Mora Iced Creamery. That’s a lot of ice cream!

Get $2 off regular admission at the Seattle Aquarium, Woodland Park Zoo, Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium and Northwest Trek Wildlife Park. All coupons work for up to four people.

Being in Seattle, we all know that the weather can take a dip into gray at any time. There are also those rare occasions when it is too hot to hang around outside. Days like these are perfect for spending a little time roaming around a good museum.

Bellevue Arts Museum, The Museum of Flight, Washington State History Museum, The Burke Museum, Northwest African American Museum and Wing Luke Museum all offer one free admission with the purchase of another at full price.

EMP Museum offers $3 off up to four adult admissions and Pacific Science Center offers two regular exhibit tickets for the price of one

There are also deals for several kid museums including Seattle Bug Safari, The Children’s Museum, Kids Discovery Museum and KidsQuest Children’s Museum.

If you’ve got time for one last weekend trip, check out the Travel & Recreation section of the book. There are deals for hotels, train travel and vacation adventures. Don’t forget to use those free Metro bus passes as well.

Other Fun Deals

Seattle Bicycle Rentals & Tours and Alki Kayak Tours offer two admissions for the price of one and the Argosy Cruise/Tillicum Village experience is 20% off.

Some of those clothing store coupons might come in handy for back-to-school shopping as well.

Thank you to Brian Lanahan of Chinook Book for the image.
