Kids get bored easily, and the more to do, the better, especially when it takes them outside. Calloway’s Nursery has several FREE kid’s events throughout the summer that you won’t want to miss! Check it out!

The Prince / Princess And The Pea

Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Have you heard of the fairy tale, “The Princess and the Pea”? If you haven’t, come join us as we have story time and plant a seed or two. And if you already know the story, come to the garden center to hear an old favorite and learn with other little (girl and boy) gardeners!

Tin Can Planting

Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Recycling is good, and tin cans make nifty plant containers. Accompanied by a parent, children can pot a tomato seed and learn more about the edible tomato plant. Children are encouraged to bring their own empty, clean tin can. Join us at the garden center for this easy, fun and educational gardening event.

Did you know that certain plants attract beautiful butterflies? Come to Calloway’s or Cornelius Nursery and learn about wildlife pollinators. Accompanied by a parent, children will make butterflies out of coffee filters and pipe cleaners while they learn about wildlife pollinators. All these events are a part of the Callie’s Kids summer events offered at Calloway’s Nursery. They’re free events for kids aged 5-10. You must register online for events prior to coming. Events are offered on a first registered, first served basis. Parents/Guardians can register on-site the day of the event as space allows. For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, a maximum of three children should attend with each adult. If you are with a large group, complete and submit the Special School Tour Form for consideration for a special group tour.
