Need a new App of the Week?
Disney Storytime has done it again! Today they've launched a new app that includes 20 books for your children's reading pleasure. What's new?
Since we have a few other Disney Storytime apps, I was worried this would be redudant. Nope. Just better in a couple of ways.
First, my kids can read multiple stories from some of their favorite characters, all in the same application. I love that they can navigate by clicking their favorite characters. Buzz and Woody seems to win more screen time at our house. What's your child's favorite Disney character? Chances are, you'll find a story for every favorite.
Next, this app has enhanced features that let us choose between self-guided reading or listening to the story. This feature lets my kindergartener test out his reading skills while little brother can enjoy listening to the words.
I even tried recording myself reading a story so it would sound more familiar to my kids. Note: If you want a perfect recording, you'll have to find a quiet place WITHOUT the kids first. We tried recording and reading simultaneously with my toddler and let's just say, he was not turning the pages in a helpful way. Maybe you'll want to have a narration with an extra, "No, I do it!" in the middle.
You can find the Disney Storytime app at your local iTunes store for $1.99 which includes three stories: Monsters, inc. "Always Time for a Laugh," Toy Story "Starry Night," and Tangled "Rapunzel's Story." The other books are available with credits. Since I'm a sale-friendly mama, we went book-fair crazy and got the entire library of 20 books for just $8.99.
Maybe I'm a sucker for a new book, but I can always feel good about buying books when I know the characters are already favorites. Plus, now we get to read up on their latest adventures in these brand-new stories!
Note: I was provided a review copy of the Disney Storytime App but the opinions are all my own.
