Four words: National. Grilled. Cheese. Day. On April 12, the 105 year old farmer owned cooperative, Tillamook, helped kids and adults of all ages celebrate National Grilled Cheese Day. Tillamook stated that everything is bigger here in Texas, so why not have a bigger than big celebration for, let’s face it, a very yummy holiday. On April 12 from 10 am to 4 pm, Tillamook lived up to their statement by providing free grilled cheese sandwiches to kids at the Dallas Zoo.

The annual Tillamook Cheese Tour arrived at the zoo to host the free grilled cheese celebration with 9 of their tasty, all natural cheese slices. A few of the slices that were the center of attention were the award-winning Medium Cheddar, Pepper Jack, Garlic White Cheddar and Colby Jack.

Kids, with their souvenir chef hats and aprons, had the opportunity to be the “chefs” at this event while parents sat back, relaxed, and partook in a grilled cheese sandwich of their own.

**The Dallas Zoo is located at 650 South R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75203.*
