A few months ago, I came across The Candy Cottage in my FamilyFun magazine and knew I had to have them. I love to decorate gingerbread houses with my kids, but if you are like me, you may not have the time or skill to make them from scratch. Seriously, that is a lot of work!
The two moms who started The Candy Cottage had the same idea in mind and turned the classic gingerbread house into a modern, reusable item for year-round family fun. That’s right…you can decorate them for any and everything you have in mind.
Rock it for the holidays…
As a special birthday centerpiece…
Or anytime the kids are bored.
After the fun is over, clean them up and store them away!
They come in two sizes; the Original, 14″ wide and almost 10″ tall for family decorating and the Party Pack, four 6″ X 8″ houses where everyone can decorate their own. I ordered the party pack and couldn’t wait for them to arrive…I mean, my boys couldn’t wait. They assemble easily and the dreaded ‘house collapse’ is not on the list. They are so sturdy, even when frosting and goodies are piled on.
How do I know? I created a Thanksgiving kids’ table where the highlight is creating log cabins. Even with tons of frosting and pretzel rods, it is still standing strong. That is always number one in my book. (PS…if you would like to see the full shoot, head over to The Celebration Shoppe).
Please visit The Candy Cottage for more decorating ideas and to order your own. Unless you have the pleasure of passing through Monroe or heading to Leavenworth for the holidays, these are the only retail places (for now) in our area that carry them.
Or…you can enter to win your own! The lovely folks at The Candy Cottage are graciously giving away an Original and a Party Pack to our readers. All you have to do is leave a comment here on which one you would like to win, the Original or a Party Pack, and we will pick one comment of each size to win. Good luck!
