Thursday, Sept 18, 2014 (6am – midnight) is North Texas Giving Day, your opportunity to support more than 1,500 certified non-profit organizations in North Texas by enabling them to receive additional funds when you make an online donation of at least $25.
North Texas Giving Day is an online giving event that provides non-profits the opportunity to gain exposure to — and start relationships with — new donors, and for people in North Texas to come together to raise as much money as possible for local nonprofits. In just five years, North Texas Giving Day has pumped more that $60 million into the North Texas community. In 2013, more than 75,000 gifts totaling $25.2 million, benefiting more than 1,350 nonprofits.
After last year’s national record-crushing 75,000 donations totaling $25.2 million, North Texas Giving Day is back with the hope that North Texas will rise to the challenge and outdo itself once again. With new community events, extra time to donate, and additional prizes, the sixth annual North Texas Giving Day aims to raise the giving day bar once again to benefit more North Texas nonprofits.
On September 18, 2014, donations can be made 6 a.m. to midnight to more than 1,500 certified nonprofits listed on the new website www.NorthTexasGivingDay.org. Donations $25 and above will be amplified by $2 million in bonus funds and prizes. What this means is that gifts of at least $25 and up to $50,000 are eligible to receive bonus funds on a pro-rated basis from a bonus pool. For Example: If the bonus pool is $1,000,000 and the total of all eligible gifts raised during Giving Day is $10,000,000, then the pro-rated bonus will be $.10 on the dollar. So a $100 gift will earn an additional $10.00 for the nonprofit.
