November Fun
This time of year is my ABSOLUTE favorite, for its simplicity and meaning. When we celebrate Thanksgiving it feels authentic and real.
These ideas are sure to make November a memorable one.
Make a Give Thanks Paper Quilt
or Thankful Poem.
Have a pie making party with your little ones and couple of their friends. If your kids are anything like mine they ALWAYS want to help when I’m in the kitchen baking. Now, put them in charge! Make up the pie crust before hand, but let them roll and place in mini pie tins. Let them help mix and pour the filling into the pie crust and watch it bake. Then send them home with a mini pie to share with their family.
Veterans Day (November 11) seems to be one of those forgotten holidays, but deserves as much recognition as any of the others.
Talk to your kids about Veterans Day and why we recognize it. If you are lucky enough to know a veteran, ask him/her to talk to your kids. Try these books as a teaching tool.
Hang your flag proudly and be grateful for those who fight for our freedom!
Grab your apron, your favorite music and take half a day to make and then DEVOUR freshly baked bread for Homemade Bread Day (November 17th). When we make bread at our house my little ones are always clamoring to get the best spot to help.
This whole wheat and french bread recipe have proven to be the best!
A Thanksgiving workout has become a must at our home. While the hubby plays football, the little ones and I either head to a Turkey Trot or gather the neighborhood kids for our own futball game.
Have FUN this month!
