With the beautiful weather, comes the desire to bring in the new, do some spring cleaning, and get rid of clutter. Your closet is a good place to start. If you haven’t been motivated to get rid of that outfit that’s perfect for an 80’s theme party, the business suits you don’t need anymore, or those clothes that no longer fit, this weekend is a good time to start getting rid of some things because National Clean Out Your Closet Week starts this Sunday, March 13th.
Now that you’re thinking about it, keep yourself motivated by planning where you want your discards to go. If you have a favorite charity, call them to see if they’ll be able to accept your donation. If clothes aren’t what they need, there are several other local charities that will be happy to take your things. You can stop by your local Goodwill store or one of their more than 20 donation centers. If you want your donations to help a specific cause such as women in crisis, The Family Place or Genesis Women’s Shelter thrift stores will gladly accept your contributions.
Too busy to go to a drop off location? No problem. Just schedule a pick up through a FREE service like Donation Town that connects donors with local charities to pick up donations.
Motivating yourself to clean out your closet is not as bad as you think, particularly if you know that other moms will be doing the same during National Clean Out Your Closet Week. Heck, you don’t have to stop with your closet. Tackle the kids’ closets too!
