The Color Run  is coming to Hershey May 31,2014 & June 1, 2014.

The Color Run is like no other 5K out there, its more about having fun and being active, not about how fast you actually finish the race.   Otherwise known as “the happiest 5K on the planet.”  At each kilometer, the color runners are doused from head to toe in bright, powdered color.   To make it even more fun, you are given a white race shirt to wear.  It really is pretty neat to see all of the clean white shirts at the start of the race and the rainbow of shirts leaving at the end of the day.  If you don’t want to leave covered in color they do have a list of suggestions on their site to minimize the effect but you need to know going into it you are going to finish the run covered in some type of color.

I was lucky enough to get a chance to participate in the 2013 Color Run in Philadelphia last July.  It really was a lot of fun.   I’m not exactly super athletic and under normal circumstances I wouldn’t decide to run a 5K.  I’m not a runner, I would like to be but I’m just not.   It really is a family event,  when I went last year it was just friends & I.  This year however, my 6 year old and I are already signed up.   I can’t wait to do it again!  If you are thinking about signing up, do it fast, it looks like the May 31 date is already sold out!
