Hop to It (Again): More Spring Books

I couldn’t just stop at one post about spring books.

There are so many great stories out there; I just had to include a few more for your shopping pleasure.  Here are a few titles that your kiddies will be happy to have in their baskets this year:

Where are Baby’s Easter Eggs? by Karen Katz

This bright and colorful book is so much fun for little ones.  Our bookshelves have many Karen Katz books.  All of her books are vibrant and inviting for tiny hands that want to explore.  I also love that the text is minimal, which is perfect for short attention spans.  A great book for babies and toddlers, you can try to find the eggs together in this fun lift-the-flap story.  Perfect Easter basket material for small ones!

Bunny’s Garden by Golden Books

The same lovable bunny from Pat the Bunny returns in this story about a garden.  As bunny takes care of his fruits and vegetables, catches butterflies, and has a picnic, readers can lift the flaps to find hidden surprises.  Another fantastic choice for smaller children, as this book is simple and colorful.

10 Easter Egg Hunters by Janet Schulman

I first discovered this author when I purchased 10 Trick-or-Treaters for my son.  I adored the witty images and colors that were incorporated into the book.  I wasn’t disappointed when I found this Easter tale that takes readers on an egg hunting adventure.  This book combines the excitement of searching for eggs with counting.  As the characters find the hidden eggs, your child counts along with the children in the story.  Great practice for any child learning their numbers.

Snow Rabbit, Spring Rabbit by Il Sung Na

This book first caught by eye because of the gorgeous cover illustration, but the story is just as beautiful.  The author shows children how different animals deal with the winter cold.  Readers will see that some fly away for the winter and some stay where they are.  With artistic images throughout, the pages transition to spring where the colors brighten and the rabbit smiles.  This book will be a fabulous addition to our home library and I am excited to share it with my preschooler.

Happy Spring and Happy Reading!
