I’m smiling as I type this because I plan to grape stomp at the September’s 26thAnnual GrapeFest.DFW Mamas, please join me!
The festival will be held in Grapevine, TX from September 13th thru the 16th and there’s something for everyone. Not only does this festival boast of premium wines, but there will be winery tasting tours, live music, food, a Kid Zone, and a GrapeStomp.
Unfortunately, the GrapeStomp competition is for those 13 and older (my nine year old was upset by this). However, after perusing the website, children may stomp for fun at no charge.
There will be daily session times for the two member team with the GrapeStomp Grand Championship Stomp-Off on Sunday, September 18that 4:00 pm.
How could any ‘I Love Lucy’ fan possibly deny themselves a chance to stomp grapes?

*Rule 1 — Contestants must be at least 13.
*Rule 2 — A $10 entry fee is required for each team. A team will consist of two members. Entry fee can be paid at the time of the event.
*Rule 3 — A contestant can only compete as a member of one team.
*Rule 4 — While acting as “Stomper”, the team member must stomp grapes from an upright barefoot position. Hands cannot be placed on or in the barrel.
*Rule 5 — While acting as “Helper”, the team member must hold the jug to catch the juice. The “Helper” must keep their hands out of the stomp bucket.
*Rule 6 — Each team will crush approximately 18 pounds of grapes for a period of 2 minutes. Team members will switch after one minute has elapsed. “Switch” will be called at the mid-point of the stomp for teams to switch positions.
*Rule 7 — During each hourly session, teams with the most juice will compete in the Hourly StompOff. Hourly winners will Stomp in the Daily StompOff. Daily winners will compete in the Grand StompOff championship on Sunday
*Rule 8 — All equipment is provided. Therefore, no additional equipment is permitted during the competition.
*Rule 9 — All photos become property of the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau.
