Goodnight Moon at Dallas Children’s Theater on January 25th – March 3
Dallas Children’s Theater (DCT) presents Goodnight Moon, a musical adaptation by Chad Henry of the bedtime story by Margaret Wise Brown, playing January 25 – March 3, 2013.
Integral to the story is puppetry, so DCT collaborated with the nationally celebrated troupe, Kathy Burks Puppetry Arts. Three styles of puppetry including hand puppets, marionettes and Black Theatre rod puppets combine with special effects to create nursery magic and bring inanimate objects to life. The fireplace smiles, a lamp teases, the telephone talks, a red balloon squeaks and the clock dances. Hand held puppets of a naughty mouse and kittens create the pandemonium that makes this little bunny feel wide-awake at bedtime.
The musical adaptation of Goodnight Moon expands and elaborates on the original story by exploring the bunny’s youthful and innocent associations with all the sights, sounds and wonders of the night.
