Fun-Filled Arizona Summer Camps 2014

School is almost out and for many of us mothers that means hearing the dreaded, “Mom, I’m bored.”

One way to beat the boredom this summer is to enroll your child in a fun-filled summer camp. There are plenty of options for all ages whether they love singing, sports, or storytime.

With so many camp choices, it’s fortunate that has created an exhaustive list of Arizona summer camps searchable by type, city, and child’s age. Checkout my top 5 camp picks below based on cost and fun factor.


Local Arizona authors present their stories that feature desert-animal characters. Craft activity follows each story. Adults must accompany their child.

Venue: Pueblo Grande Museum

Ages: Preschool to Grade 4

Cost: $5 per child per storytime

Dates: Saturdays during May 31 – June 28, 2014

Time: 10:00 am – noon


Campers will learn dance and music numbers from well-loved musicals and perform in an ensemble of their peers. All campers should bring lunch.

Venue: Phoenix Conservatory of Music at Metrocenter Mall offices

Ages: 6 – 18 years

Cost: $120

Dates: June 16 – 20, 2014

Time: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

This camp has tons of fun activities including arts and crafts, trampolines, relay races, dance contests, dodge ball, gymnastics, and fort building. They also offer “Wiggles and Giggles” Summer Camp for preschoolers aged 3 – 5 years.

Venue: Flip Dunk

Ages: 5 and up

Cost: $125/week for half-days, $230/week for full days

Dates: Mondays thru Fridays from June 2 – August 15, 2014

Time: 9am – noon OR 1pm – 4pm for half-days, 9am – 4pm for full days


Sports include archery, basketball, baseball, field sports, soccer, volleyball, and of course, swimming! Lunch is included on Mondays and Fridays.

Venue: Choose to attend at New Way Academy, Sunnyslope High School, Tesseract Shea Campus, or Thunderbird Academy

Ages: 5 – 13

Cost: $160/week for half day, $215/week for full day

Dates: Mondays thru Fridays from May 27 – August 8, 2014

Time: 8:30 am – noon for half day, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm for full day


Taught by Hayley Eslinger, cheerleader for the Arizona Rattlers, this camp includes a T-shirt, shorts, and pom-poms.

Venue: Ridgeline Academy

Ages: 5 – 14

Cost: $175

Dates: July 7 – 11, 2014

Time: 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
