Dallas City Performance Hall Grand Opening Sept 13-16
Dallas City Performance Hall will celebrate it’s grand opening Thursday, September 13th through Sunday, September 16th with FREE performances and family-friendly activities, as well as ticketed grand-opening concerts.
The new venue is designed to accommodate all types of mid-sized events, including orchestra concerts, theater productions, and lectures. The performance hall has a two-level, 750-seat theater that’s reputed to have great acoustics and a lobby that can double as a small performance area or host events, local performing arts groups, etc.
The grand opening kicks off on September 13th with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11am, followed by a brief tour of the building. Dallas Center for Architecture will lead additional tours from 4-6pm followed by a panel discussion with design team members on the Hall stage. All activities on this day are free and open to the public.
Beginning Friday, September 14th through Sunday, September 16th, grand opening fun will continue with a variety of theater and dance performances as well as concerts. Highlights include:
Friday, September 14th
7 p.m. – Denton singer-songwriter Sarah Jaffe brings her distinctive style to the Hall’s first performance.

10:30 a.m. – Dallas Children’s Theater’s National Touring Company presents The True Story of The 3 Little Pigs
1-1:30 p.m. – Dance Council of North Texas presents a showcase of Dallas-area dance troupes, including Dallas Ballet Company, Beckles Dancing Company, Contemporary Ballet Dallas, Elledanceworks and Southern Methodist University Dance Division.
Sunday, September 16th
4:00 p.m. – Dallas Chamber Symphony Performance
6:00 p.m. – The Dallas Women’s Chorus
