Dallas Area Spring Break Activities

I don’t know about you but I am looking forward to March 12-16. Spring break!! My kids are ready for it and so am I.

As much as we’re all ready for it, though, it seems boredom can easily creep in. Check out some fun Dallas area activities that will entertain the kids and make some memories at the same time!

Fossil Rim Wildlife Center ~ Spring Break pricing effective March 10-18…Adults $22.95 per person • Children(3-11) $16.95 per person • Seniors(62+) $19.95 per person. Get in line by 9 am and receive a FREE bag of feed worth $7.95!

Dallas Museum of Art ~ Admission is free Saturday, March 10th for Family Celebration Day. Their Spring Break special includes half price admission Sunday, March 11th through Friday, March 16th (museum is closed on Mondays) with lots of activities for the kids! Check hours and admission prices here.

Quiggly’s Clayhouse ~ March 12-16 from 10 am – 12 pm, Quiggly’s Clayhouse has all sorts of fun workshops for kids. Workshops are designed for both children as young as 4 years, and their parents of any age! (Parents are not required to remain during the workshop). First-timers will be guided through every activity step-by-step. Those with experience fusing glass or spinning pots will be challenged to engage in creative thinking and problem solving to design and execute projects that align with the workshop objectives and materials use. Pay $35 for one session or $29 for two or more sessions. With pottery, glass fusion, and canvas painting, there’s lots of fun!

Museum of Nature & Science Discovery Camp ~ Sign up for Spring Break camp March 12-16! Geared toward grade k-6. $200 for members, $225 for non-members. Before and after care also available.

Dallas Arboretum ~ The Dallas Arboretum is the perfect place to enjoy nature, let the kids run around, and have a nice picnic. March 3 – April 8 enjoy the annual Dallas Blooms featuring 500,000 spring blooming bulbs! Capital One Bank’s “Buy One Get One Free Tuesdays” will offer discount coupons at area Capital One Bank locations beginning Thursday, March 1.

March 5- April 3 (Located in the Arboretum’s Pecan Grove)

  • Face Painting, 10am-2pm (line closes at 1pm)
  • Petting Zoo, 10am-2pm
  • Arts & Crafts, 10am-2pm
  • Kindermusik , 12 – 12:30 pm

Hanami at the Arboretum

March 11, 12:30 – 2:30 pm

  • Picnic under the cherry trees in Pecan Grove.
  • Enjoy live koto (floor harp) and shakuhachi (Japanese flute) music in Pecan Grove.

SPCA of Texas Spring Break Camp ~ Spring Break Camp is a three day camp for children ages 8-11 and will take place at the Rees-Jones Humane Education Center in Dallas on March 12th – 14th from 9am-3pm. Registration Fee: $140.00.

Animal Adventure Camps at the Dallas Zoo ~ March 12-16 for grades pre-k to 5. Spend your vacation Island Hopping at Spring Break Camp at the Dallas Zoo! Each day, children are broken out into grade level appropriate classes and take a trip around the world, island style, without ever leaving the Dallas Zoo! Receive 5% off your total camp cost when you sign up multiple kids or for multiple camp days! $45 for members and $50 for members per day.

Spring Break Staycation at Heritage Farm Museum ~ The museum will be open Monday, March 12 through Friday, March 16 from 10:00 am until 4:30pm. Visitors can enjoy a self-guided tour of the property while enjoying many hands-on activities, which will include, milking Buttermilk, the Incredible Milking Cow, Washing Clothes, Feeding the farmstead fowl, Parlor games and Board Games will be set up all around the Farmstead. Admission price is $5.
