Beginning June 29th and running through mid-August, local north county residents gather to eat, drink, dance and frolic with a new band each week. The featured band plays from 6:00pm-8:00om but people gather as early as 3:00pm (in fact I suggest getting there early), to picnic and just hang out.
The shows I’m looking most forward to are Big Time Operator on July 6th at Stagecoach Park and B-Side Players on July 27th at Poinsettia Park, but regardless of who is playing, these shows are always a blast. Even more than the music is the sense of family and community that it builds.
The location of the concerts vary, rotating between three of the biggest community parks, Stagecoach, Calavera Hills and Poinsettia, so be sure to check the schedule for locations and band line-up.
For the three concerts that are being held at Stagecoach Park, I highly suggest stopping into the newest local pizzeria called Crust to pick up a pie and a bottle of wine. They are running some To Go specials specifically for the concert evenings:
14″ specialty pizza, appetizer or salad (house or Caesar) and a bottle of Happy Hour wine for $39
14″ specialty pizza, appetizer or salad (house or Caesar) and a bottle of still or sparkling water for $29
They will also be having Before and After Jazz happy hours from 3:00 to 6:00pm and 9:00 to 11:00pm.
Have fun at the concerts!
