Belly Bands – Maternity wardrobe must have
It’s been a while since I posted about belly bands and I thought now would be a good time to revisit what I think is the most important staple in a maternity wardrobe- The Belly Band
Isn’t this a beautiful picture?! Thanks to my lovely friend Cortney at Bouncin Baby Photography 😀
What is a belly band? They look just like a tube you can wear around your waist and your tummy but the key is stretch, especially in the hem. It can be made out of cotton, elastane, spandex, nylon, or a variety of other materials.

Simply wear it around your waist and when you’re pregnant it allows you to wear your regular pants with the buttons undone. After baby comes, it helps you transition back into your regular clothing. Read my post HERE about (what I think is) the correct way to wear a belly band. This is from experience 😉
know it seems so simple, yet I never thought of it with my first child…hhmmm. I admit with my second child, I tried to make my own – complete FAIL! The hem wasn’t right and it didn’t stretch with me so that was a complete waste of money. You can expect to pay between $12 – $20 on a belly band just depending on the material and the brand. Don’t wait to get one. If you’re at the point where your pants are just starting to get a little tight….let out the button and grab a belly band and breathe a sigh of relief! *sigh*
