Andrew Griswold, a designer and photographer is an avid Instagram user who takes beautiful photographs (Instagram listed him as a suggested user not just once, but twice). He came up with an idea of posting once an hour in a 24 hour period, documenting a full day on Instagram. But the idea took off when he decided to capture the first 24 hours of his newborn’s life. Anyone who has had a newborn already knows that sleep is valuable and sporadic during those first 24 hours so taking on a project like this takes serious commitment. But the results are out of this world.

Beginning at around 4 pm he took a photograph each hour using #24HoursWithMarlow to mark this series. Even in the wee hours of the night, he manages to stay on task while mom and baby slept. Birth stories in photographs are not uncommon but this story is truly unique and special, capturing moments that would otherwise be lost to sleep. It’s all about discovering and honoring those first precious hours of a newborn’s life. It’s touching and lovely. Here are some of Andrew’s favorites photos from the series. You will love the entire #24HoursWithMarlow series.
