Who Done It?’ At Spaghetti Warehouse

‘Who Done It?’ At Spaghetti Warehouse

Ever since I watched the episode of Saved By the Bell where the gang went to a murder mystery dinner, I have wanted to do one.  I have never seen advertisements for such an experience, so that was just put on my “To Do Someday” list.  One day, while cleaning out my emails, I ran across a Spaghetti Warehouse email that advertised a celebrity murder mystery dinner.  I decided to jump on it and made our reservations.

I wouldn’t normally spend $55 a person for dinner, but it was my husband’s birthday.   We and our friends ventured out to the Spaghetti Warehouse in the Dallas West End.

We were seated at table #1 in the very front, next to a stage.  We were served appetizers (cheese sticks, fried zucchini, calamari, and spinach and artichoke dip with toast), salad,  tea and coke.  They also had a cash bar set up for those who wanted to indulge.

When the tables were cleared the fun started.  There were a few audience members picked to be part of the fun.  They were given their props, and then within minutes the fun began.  First came out Sherlock Holmes and his partner Austin Powers.  Yes, Austin Powers!   Our friend Blake was chosen to be the victim, Harry Carry, so after he stumbled in with a knife and fork in his back, he died right there in the middle of the restaurant.

Austin and Sherlock then started calling in different celebrities that had a reason to kill.  First came out Fran Dresher, then Elizabeth Taylor, after her was Cher, and last was Rambo.  All these celebrities told their stories.  All their stories were filled with clues that we had to figure out.  This was the most hysterical thing I have ever witnessed.  Austin Powers was a riot, and the others were pretty awesome too.

After listening to all the alibis, we were served our dinner and dessert.  I had chicken parmesan and tiramisu.  Other options were lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, and chicken alfredo.  It was pretty tasty for a pre-made meal.  As were were finishing, Austin and Sherlock passed out cards where we had to write who we thought did it, the motive, and what proof did we have.

This was a great time.  The celebrity look a likes were right on.  They were all so funny and there were times I laughed so hard I was crying.  They will be doing another show on November 19.  Their website is  They do shows here in Dallas, Houston, Vegas, and Boston.  I totally recommend this dinner show for anyone looking for a good time.

So, who did it?  Well, Rambo of course.  Cher cheated on him with Harry (who by the way was married to Fran).  Apparently after one little fling, Harry started to ignore Cher and she was upset.  Rambo didn’t like seeing her so sad, so he took care of things. Duh!

An Open Letter To The Mom Who Feels Like She Got Nothing Done Today

I'm staring at three loads of laundry that desperately need to be done. I really can't put it off for another day as the kids are running out of clothes. It may not seem like a big deal, but the very thought of completing this task exhausts me.
