Warby Parker :: Cool Eyewear That Gives Back

I recently discovered Warby Parker, an awesome place to find the coolest eyewear around.

Not only is it cool but it’s under $100, it’s quality, AND it gives back to the less fortunate.  To sum it up, Warby Parker is awesome.

> Warby Parker was founded with a rebellious spirit and a lofty objective: to create boutique-quality, classically crafted eyewear at a revolutionary price point.

And that’s just what they’ve done.  Imagine four friends sitting at the local pub.  One loses his glasses and can’t justify spending so much money on a new pair.  The need provoked a creativity that brought forth 27 styles (plus one monocle) of vintage inspired eyewear.  Thus, the birth of Warby Parker.  The founders believe that you shouldn’t have to compromise quality in offering eyewear at an affordable price.  Having just received my glasses, I can attest to the fact that quality is high on the list of priorities.

Warby Parker believes everyone has a right to see, and that’s why they’ve partnered with VisionSpring.  For every pair of glasses sold, Warby Parker gives a pair through VisionSpring.  Can you imagine putting on glasses for the first time and being able to see the world clearly?  I love the story of two farmers who received glasses which helped them to save their crop from insects.  Through their partnership with VisionSpring, Warby Parker has distributed over 85,000 pairs of eyeglasses in India and El Salvador!

Check out Warby Parker‘s line of Griffin sunglasses!  For every pair sold, $30 is donated to Invisible Children, an organization dedicated to stopping the use of child soldiers in Africa.  I love the quote inscribed in the inside…Do more than just watch.

This was my first time ordering glasses online, and I love how they make it so easy!  After doing some virtual try-ons, I ordered five pairs of glasses for a home try-on.  The home try-on is totally free and a great way to get opinions from your friends and family or even other Warby Parker lovers as you put pics of you in your specs online.

Five pairs for five days 100% free.

They just couldn’t make it any easier.  Enter your prescription from your eye doctor, and for a flat $95, you’ll have yourself some cool new specs, a cleaning cloth, and a great hard case to store your glasses.  They said I would receive them within 10 days, but they were on my doorstep in four.  All the lenses are made from polycarbonite which I love (it’s thinner and lighter) and are coated with anti-reflective and anti-scratch coatings.  If your lenses scratch within one year, simply send them back and they will replace them for free.  If, for some strange reason, you are not satisfied with your order, you have 30 days to send it back, no questions asked.

And their customer service is fantastic.  In my interactions with them, it has been evident that they care about their customers.  They are friendly and quick to respond to any questions.  I could go and on and on about how great Warby Parker is, but I think it’s time you see for yourself.  Browse their website and see their amazing line of glasses and sunglasses, and then go read about the good they are doing in the world.

Give a Holiday Movie Memory

I’m working hard at instilling a favorite holiday tradition of mine with my kiddos...packing in as many holiday movies as we can between Black Friday and Christmas Day. There is nothing better than popping popcorn, making hot cocoa, and watching our favorite holiday movies together.
