What does your family do after eating and before the shopping? As a kid, I remember going to the movies on Thanksgiving.
What better time to release a movie than when families are together, school's out and it's a national holiday?
Apparently, that's not news. Buena Vista (aka Disney) can claim eight of the Top 10 spots for Best Thanksgiving Weekend Openings including Toy Story 2, Tangled, and Enchanted.
Wondering what the Thanksgiving movie releases are for this year?
Here's a short list of movies coming out this weekend plus a few from earlier this month, in case you haven't been out yet.
Life of Pi A boy, a tiger and the sea. A castaway, a survivor and rumors of Best Picture nods as the movie brings the original book to life. Rated PG, 127 min.
Rise of the Guardians What happens when Jack Frost, Santa, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny and the Sandman get together? Let's just call it an epic battle to protect children. Kind of like The Avengers for kids. Legends Unite. Rated PG, 97 min.
Wreck It Ralph In the world of arcade games, Ralph is tired of being labeled the bad guy. He sets off to make himself a hero. Rated PG, 101 min.
For those with older children, you could also see:
Lincoln It's what history is made of. I believe Daniel Day-Lewis in everything he does. "With the moral courage and fierce determination to succeed, Lincoln's choices during this critical moment will change the fate of generations to come." Maybe it's just me, but I'm clamoring to see a kick-butt politician actually succeed in uniting a country. Rated PG-13, 150 min.

Skyfall James Bond in 50th Anniversary form. Classic plot, mean bad dude out to ruin the world and an out-of-shape, alcoholic, prescription drug-abusing spy gets in the way. Daniel Craig rounds out my "I Love Daniels" club. (Don't forget Daniel Radcliffe). Rated PG-13, 143 min.
Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 2 (aka The Finale) If you've loved the series, you've already seen this movie by now. Edward and Bella and all the story lines must wrap up. In case you haven't heard, the movie ends differently than the book, so something to look forward to, since you can no longer look forward to another Twilight movie. Rated PG-13, 115 min.
Here's to Snoopy's popcorn and jelly beans for dinner!
