Giving Tuesday: Christmas House in Everett
Wherever you live, there are food banks, shelters, and countless other charities that require our help. A little bit of thought can make a big difference in the life of a child, or an entire family.
A local organization that our family has supported for the past few years is Christmas House in Everett.
Christmas House is a 100% volunteer, non-profit organization in Everett, Washington that provides an opportunity for qualifying, low-income, Snohomish County parents to select free holiday gifts for their children (age infant – 18 yrs old). Each December the “store” is located in the Boys & Girls Club gym at 2316-12th Street, Everett, WA.

I love this organization because it allows children to have some holiday cheer and magic that they would otherwise not have. For parents who don’t have the means, your generosity can make a world of difference. I take my kids shopping so that they can help me choose items and for a small amount of money, we can purchase quite a few goodies for Snohomish county kids.
There are many donation sites around the area that will accept your donations. Click here to find one near you.
If you aren’t sure what to give, Christmas House lists all kinds of ideas to get you started. Please be aware that these items should be new.
When the store is open to shoppers, qualifying parents are assisted by a volunteer and choose 5-6 gifts for each of their children and one gift for the family. Each child receives a stocking stuffer; small gift; large gift; hat, gloves or scarf; and new clothing item. Younger children also receive a stuffed animal.
