Guys. GUYS! Brene Brown—the oracle of vulnerability, shame, and unpacking the stories we tell ourselves—is getting a Netflix special of her very own!
If you aren’t familiar with Brene Brown’s work, well honey, sit down, because I AM A FAN.
And you will be too.
Brene’s expansive work (books, TED talks, countless amazing podcast interviews) revolve around the concepts of courage, bravery, vulnerability, shame, belonging, and story.
Perhaps you’ve seen one of her TED talks? MILLIONS of people have, so odds are good you’re on that list too.
I’m reading her book, Rising Strong, for the third time. Each time I’ve used a different color highlighter to call out the concepts that I need. That book is full of well worn pages, covered in rainbow colors and dog-eared pages.
The thing I love the most about listening to Brene is that she’s so willing to say something like: This is hard and it’s uncomfortable and I don’t want it to work this way, but it does and the research proves it and try it and it will change your life.
I saw a video of one of her talks where she was describing how gratitude can help you dig out from a negative emotional spiral...and how her husband came upon her sort of shouting out things she was grateful for. I laughed. I would do that. I have done that.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR APRIL 19th!
And maybe while you wait you’d like to go download Brene’s Wholehearted Parenting Manifesto? Yes, you would.
