Big Brother, Big Hero

On July 9th, 6-year-old Bridger jumped in front of a charging dog to save his little sister's life. He received 90 stitches and is recovering at home. When asked about the incident Bridger said "If someone had to die, I thought it should be me".

Celebrity Super Heroes Reach Out

Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Holland, Hugh Jackman, Zachary Levi, the Russo brothers and Robbie Amell are among those who have reached out to Bridger and his family.

Mark Ruffalo

The big green guy got things started with this amazing message to little Bridger:

Mark Ruffalo Message to Bridger

Chris Evans

"Captain America here, so I read your story, I saw what you did and I'm sure you heard a lot of this over the last couple days, but let me be the next one to tell you, pal, you're a hero, what you did was so brave, so selfless, your sister is so lucky to have you as a big brother. Your parents must be so proud of you," Evans said in a video message posted to an Instagram page started by Walker's aunt. "I'm going to track down your address and I'm going to send you an authentic Captain America shield because pal, you deserve it."

Robert Downey Jr.

Robert Downey Jr. upped the game. He's promised Bridger something special for his birthday.

"Bridger, you're a rockstar. My name's Robert Downey Jr., I play Tony [Stark], that makes me an old friend of Cap's. I heard he sent a shield your way: I'm going to do one better. You call me on your next birthday, I got something special for you. By the way, that's a promise; a promise beats a shield."

Chris Hemsworth

"Your courage is beyond belief and we are all so impressed by you, and we're thinking of you. I know you're an Avengers fan and so myself and all the team, we'd be honored to have you on the team, and we love you and we're sending you our support."

Tom Holland

"Your little sister is so lucky to have someone like you."

Anne Hathaway

Bridger even caught Anne Hathaway's attention!

"I'm not an Avenger, but I know a superhero when I see one," Hathaway wrote on Instagram alongside photos of Bridger and his sister. "I can only hope I'm half as brave in my life as you are in yours, Bridger. Wishing you an easeful recovery, and many cool looking rocks. Hey @markruffalo, do you need a teammate??"

It's Times Like These When We Love the Internet

During a time when it feels like we are so divided (especially online), and when most of the headlines we read are full of scary news, it's stories like these that make us grateful for the internet and for a little boy's bravery.

Looks like little Bridger Walker is in good company!
