TRUE CONFESSION: Rachael and I have spent the better part of 11 years working Will Ferrell movie quotes into meetings, emails, and posts here on Today’s Mama.

And OBVIOUSLY, Amy Poehler is a national treasure and whenever I’m having a bad day and need a pick-me-up I head to Pinterest and search “Amy Poehler funny quotes” and all is right with the world.

So, many moons ago when I saw that two of my very favorite funny people were going to be in The House on June 30, I was SO IN.

Fast forward to the trailer when Will Ferrell’s character busts out this gem:

“We gotta lie, that’s what parents do.

Otherwise the kids are gonna realize that we don’t know what we’re doing.”

BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Truer words were never spoken.

So, of course, I’ll be gathering my mom friends and heading to the movies to see The House. Because EVERY parent can relate to going to COMPLETELY OVERBOARD to help their kids.

Me? I spend hours in the car every week shuttling two kids to Taekwondo.

On the regular I say things like:

“Everyone is in charge of getting their own weapons out of the car.”

“Please get your nunchucks off the table so we can eat dinner.”

“Well, where is the last place you saw your boxing gloves?”

Suddenly a film in which Amy Poehler’s character appears to be threatening someone with a creme brûlée torch DOESN’T SEEM SO FAR FETCHED.

I’m sure you can relate to the BONKERS things you’ve done to help your kids chase their dreams.

Just fill in your kid’s extracurricular of choice here _________________ and ponder the randomness of the crap that filled the back of your car.

This might be the most relatable parenting movie EVER.

Let’s find out together! Comment below, sharing a crazy thing you’ve done to help your kiddos do their thing, and you could win a $100 Visa gift card to have a Parents night out with THE HOUSE.
