Camping in Moab, feeding giraffes in Colorado Springs, exploring rocks and waterfalls, soaking in the beauty where blue and white meet, it feels like we’ve done it all! As a photographer mama, I have the pictures to prove it! The question is…
“How do I preserve all of our vacation memories?”
As I put that question out in cyber world, these are the responses I got…
@LifeLoveInspire ~ “My fam has of course tons of pics. We have a ‘family adventure book.’ Not a fancy scrapbook, just a book with our photos and sayings or any memorabilia that can be put in a book. Kids help us put it together. We got the idea after watching “UP.”
Danielle Cowden ~ “I usually come home with several thousand shots. Sometimes a handful of them end up in a video.”
@AileenWStewart ~ “I like to make photo books with a dash of scrap booking style. I take lots of pictures on vacations, I save ticket stubs, brochures from places we’ve visited, etc… I place pictures in my photo slots, but I usually leave the first one and alternate ones empty. The empty ones are where I put where the vacation took place (ex. Hawaii) and I add the things I’ve saved like the ticket stubs or parts of brochures I have cut up (I use the words and the pictures). If you have small dried flowers, stickers, coins, or postcards, these could also be added as well.”
Amandalynn Jones ~ “Press printed books.”
I agree, Amandalynn. My all-time favorite way of preserving vacation memories for my kids is to print a little book for each of them. I love how photos provide a visual reminder of all the fun things we experienced. My kids still look at last year’s book and refer to Disneyland and the Grand Canyon like it was yesterday.
For this year’s memories, I turned to Snapfish, the number one online photo service with more than 90 million members in over 20 countries and 2 billion unique photos stored online. They are also the largest international photo service in 22 countries worldwide.
They have a wide variety of photo books to choose from. All the way from 4X6 flip books to 12X12 hardcover books, you’ll find a variety of styles, colors, and options to customize your books to fit your personal style. I was impressed with the ease of creating my book. After uploading the photos I wanted to an album, it was all a matter of dragging and dropping the layout and photos I wanted in my book. Twenty pages and roughly 70 photos later, I was pleased with my book and clicked to order. From that moment until they arrived at my doorstep was 7 days, pretty good considering processing, printing, and shipping.
> “Thank you, Snapfish, for providing such lovely books for us to remember how much fun we had and all the memories we made on our 2011 summer vacation adventures!”
My kids were so excited when we took them out of the box. I heard shouts like, “Cool!” Smiles and laughter were also present as we admired each page and read the words. They absolutely loved the books. When the chaos settled down, I took a moment to look a little more. I was impressed with the quality of the books for sure. I love that the cover photo is printed directly on the hardback and not on a paper sleeve. I also love that you can print text on the spine, a fun little extra that allows you to see what the book is directly from the bookcase.
I find that Snapfish provides excellent value for the money. I also love their customer service. They are friendly and prompt in their response. Anyone out there love a good deal? Snapfish almost always has coupons and deals to help you save money. Be sure to check your inbox or the web for the latest ways to save!
