If you believe that one mama’s trash is another mama’s treasure, then check out or donate to the Oakland Museum of California’s annual White Elephant Sale on Saturday, March 2nd and Sunday, March 3rd .  It’s the Bay Area’s biggest treasure hunt!

Please note that the sale is too big for the museum (you’ll need a map!) and takes place at a warehouse located on the Oakland Estuary at 333 Lancaster Street in Oakland—directions here.

Hercules resident and veteran White Elephant shopper, Lise, recommends taking your coffee and a good book.  “The line to get in will be LONG, and take something to sit on while you wait.  I have bought great vintage stuff-purses, coats, and accessories. I bought a great 1950’s chair and kitchen stuff.”

“I’ve been many times—it’s so fun!” says Berkeley mama, Sierra.  “I have purchased cashmere sweaters, lamps, yarn, knitting needles, a mirror, a vintage table fan, and many kitchen accessories.”

So get your shop-on, ladies.  Get caffeinated, get comfortable and get there early.
