New Community for African-American Families Learning Chinese

A new community organization has started up in the Bay Area for African-American parents of young Mandarin learners.

Parents of African American Students Studying Chinese (PAASSC) is a coalition of collaborative parents, students, schools and communities throughout the Bay Area that are committed to providing ways to enhance the educational opportunities of African American students that are studying Chinese through enrichment activates that supports each child academically, socially and culturally.

The group will plan events, provide resources, and build community for families whose children may be studying at one of the many local Mandarin immersion schools. Check out their website for upcoming events and recent articles.
