Food insecurity skyrockets for children during the summer months, because those subsidized school lunches and breakfasts are gone. For many of these little ones, it’s the one complete meal they can count on. There is nothing, nothing more supremely wrong than a hungry child. Fortunately, almost every community has free lunch programs designed to fill the gap. They’re set up at places where kids congregrate–like parks, swimming pools, etc. If you’re here in Utah, go here to find your local lunch (and sometimes breakfast) zones. Many sites will also offer nutritious adult meals for $1.00 to $3.00. Nationally, go here to find your locations. Everyone under the age of 18 is welcome, no id is required.
