After watching a few episodes, it’s easy to see why Yo Gabba Gabba is all the rage. These brightly colored, friendly characters showcase some of the catchiest tunes around.   “Don’t Bite Your Friends!” really hit it out of the ballpark for us.  In fact, I’ve caught our three year old quoting it from time to time.

We were delighted to discover Gilt City (which works just like Groupon) was offering discounted  tickets to their December 3rd Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! concert. I quickly jumped on the offer and decided I could save us more money by making shirts for myself and our eight year old daughter.

Pre-Brobee

Initially, our eight year old wanted my crafty sister to make the shirt.  However,  I thought it was an easy enough project to attempt myself. As my daughter and I walked through the aisles of our local Michaels, I became inspired. We purchased shirts and felt cloth.  And boy, was I was pumped!

I brought my green tshirt and materials (thought it would be smarter to attempt this with no interruptions from the kids) and worked on it during my lunch hour.  It only took 20 minutes to  make my Brobee (my favorite character!) shirt. Even though I’m not finished, I plan to put rhinestones on the shirt to make it blingy (remember, I have a household full of girls).
