I’ve always been a supporter of the arts, and now that my five year old (pictured above at only 2 years old) says she wants to be an artist when she grows up, I want to do everything I can to make sure art programs are readily available to kids in our schools and in our community. Thanks to a nonprofit called ArtReach, kids in grades K-6 throughout San Diego County get to learn from and work with working artists who provide hands-on visual art education workshops.
ArtReach takes professional artists into elementary schools throughout San Diego County to provide standards-based, visual art workshops. ArtReach provides both fee for service programs and, when able, grant-funded free programs for schools that have few or no art resources and no ability to pay.
As an annual fundraiser, ArtReach puts on a “Party Arty” to support their educational programs in elementary schools.
