4 Ways to Make Ski Season Cheaper for Kids in Utah
I always told myself I’d make sure my kids knew how to ski very young.
(Don’t worry about me though . . . I finally learned to snowboard in high school)
Well, time flies and there was always one reason or another that we didn’t get around to getting our kids out to ski. Last year we changed that and I got my kids up in lessons and I feel like I’ve cracked the code to making skiing less expensive and more convenient here in Utah.
School Ski Program with Brighton
This is typically a 6 week program running through January and February for grades 2-8. Worth it. Watch for a flyer to come home from your school.

Season Rentals from Ski’NSee/ARCS
Did you know these existed? Because I didn’t. You can rent equipment for your kids for the entire season. Here’s what you need to know about renting equipment for the entire season from ARCS/Ski’N See:
- Price: $79.99/$99.99 = Affordable
- If your child grows during the season you can stop in and switch out equipment (based on availability)
- You can hang on to the skis until Snowbird closes (because they are usually the last to close)
- Go in for a free tune-up after you’ve used the equipment 10 times
- Seasonal rentals are typically sold out by mid-December. Now is the time to go and get your equipment sized up and ready to go!
- Be sure to add some bright tape or something with you name on it to your skis (removable of course). Lots of other skiers will have similar equipment and you don’t want your stuff mistakenly going home with someone else.
- Just need daily rentals? You can save 25% by reserving them online at www.SkiNSee.com
